1959
Airstream Tradewind Land Yacht
This
retro retreat is so cool and was the best trailer money
could buy in 1959. It has a full bath with tub and shower
in the rear, and a dinette in the front, adjoining the kitchen.
The kitchen is equipped with a four burner gas range and
oven, a double sink with running water, a refrigerator with
freezer, and even a microwave. The old countertops and pink
bathroom take you right back to the 50's.
The bedroom,
in between the kitchen and the bath, features twin beds,
a full set of drawers under one twin, and a wardrobe closet.
A 19-inch flat screen TV is mounted on an articulated arm
so that it can be seen from either the bedroom or the front
dinette, and has a 12 volt DVD player so you can enjoy a
good movie at night or on a rainy afternoon. This trailer
sleeps 4, has a wall furnace near the door, and now has
air conditioning too..
Located
in Phoenix, AZ, it is an easy trip to the Mogollon Rim (a
2,000 foot escarpment that slices through the state diagonally).
Ponderosa pine forests cover the Rim, as it squeezes out
enough moisture to support them. Lakes are stocked with
trout and the many streams make this a fly fishers dream.
(OK, Lee's Ferry near the Grand Canyon is the best fly fishing
spot in the world.) Not what you would expect in Arizona.
What you do expect is the Grand Canyon, which is about a
5 hour drive from Phoenix.
